Yes, this is our “strong and independent” action heroine, folks. Somebody who can’t even talk on the phone without one of her boyfriends literally holding her hand.

For real. I mean, I'd rather her have weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and emotional needs than not, because I can't relate to this totally self-sufficient stone who never has a moment where she wants reassurance or is afraid, and that's really not a human character to me at all...but Anita takes it to really ridiculous levels while also damning women who do the same to any degree, and continuing to enjoy all the privilege of the text clouting her as being just as tough as she pretends.

Does *everything* in this series have to tie back to sex?

At this point? Yes, I'd say yes.
