I'm sure LKH is trying to be cute/clever with that kind of thing, but it just ends up sounding stupid. Like really weaksauce Buffyspeak. Joss Whedon she is not.
But the Commedia dell'Arte only started in the 16th century, which was centuries after that happened. So what were they called before then? And why did they take those names? Perhaps secretly, the Harlequin are incredibly whimsical!
I wonder if she includes ‘rape and lobotomy’ under her definition of hurting people? Yeah, I think the series has made it abundantly clear that she does not.
