These books have gotten in my head so badly my first thought wasn't "that's not cool, they are people too" but "Jean-Claude have sex with another female? Ha, Anita'll never go for that." Hahaha, right?
And the most annoying part is, you know it's going to turn out that Anita et al were totally right and Haven is trying to pull some stunt or whatever, even though LKH completely contradicted that multiple times in this chapter
I think that these contradictions are pretty much proof as to what we already found out recently from Lashouts---LKH really does just hand in first drafts for publishing, complete with all the holes that are naturally to be found in first drafts. "Ok, I need Haven and his lions to be there for Anita to have conflict with him, what's a good reason? Oh, I know, he came when she called because of the MOAD! And I'll need a good reason for her to kill him, I'll just stick a note here to fill that in when it comes" but then she never actually gets back to it and we wind up with this instead.
