Conversations make so little sense in this world.

They do, don't they? The impression I get is mostly that all the characters have some sort of terminal attention deficiency - they get asked a question, they think about the answer, their thoughts promptly derail and they start thinking about whatever they find more interesting at the moment, they forget what the question was and instead assumes that they were asked a question about the more interesting topic which they then promptly answer. Meanwhile, the other character has also forgotten what his question was and just assumes that the answer he got applied to it.

Pro tip, if something shouldn't work, you either don't do it or give a damn good explanation as to why it did that shows it did NOT in fact break the canon rules. Making it 'just work' is bullshit...aka what these entire books have become.

Yeah. The books were always the most interesting to me when they followed the strict rules they had set up, and that seems to be what most people here liked best about them too. Sadly, LKH seems to have very little interest in exploring her rules when breaking them feels so much more exciting to her.

So she tells them that if they're going to do more than this they need to do it soon.

Er, I am not particularly knowledgeable about the female anatomy, but... I do not think it works like that, yes? Women don't normally become incapable of sex immediately after having an orgasm the way that men usually do? I guess this is just another way that Anita is just SO MANLY that even the laws of biology no longer applies for her.
