but the ardeur can seek out specific victims, so if LKH/Anita decides that they want you, then the ardeur will grab you up no matter the distance.
Oh god, now I imagined it like the vector hands from Clannad! But more sinister and twisted, and more likely to grope you than tear your arm off.
