The idea that the universe, including the behavior and knowledge of others, bends around Sues is something that comes up in SvS
And it's really, really clever in SvS (even though I'm behind on that too! But I remember a hint/reference of it during one of Lucy's meetings with her harem-minions.) I think my shocked/appalled response is two pronged:
1 - It's in the actual text! I've only seen Sue-ness show up in an actual, canon character to this same degree once and it was actually a plot point. (It turned out that the reason the world was so disjointed around the anime's main character was because the MC was literally that world's capricious, immature, and often cruel god. And, by the end of the series, you feel just as badly for the MC as you do for everyone else in the show.)

2 - LKH once said that she "can't unknow" what she "knows/learns" about the AB world which is why her canon screw-ups in her comic prequel are "understandable and reasonable." (Which, by the way, they're not to me.) She's also said that she "can't keep secrets from Anita." (Which is ridiculous!) But it's not just Anita! In order for that conversation with Meph to work - in order for any conversation to work in the AB-verse - the characters that Anita is talking to or interacting with have to know everything that she knows. In other words, LKH can't keep secrets from any of her characters! They are all filled with LKH's perspective (that Anita is awesome) which is why they all agree that Anita is awesome. The only exceptions -- police personnel, women, and the occasional werewolf -- are inserted into the text to make Anita look good (because she can't do it herself!) which is why they all end up having to simper, admit that Anita is better/smarter/right-er than them, and agree that they brought deserve whatever misfortune/horror Anita's visits on them. It's like an evil funhouse mirror-verse.
