You stated something that you had observed. By my observations, the conclusion that you arrived at was incorrect and I told you so. From my perspective, there's no emotional component to this exchange.

I'm neither particularly interested in or emotionally invested in you or your opinions so it's incorrect to say that I'm "pissed" at you. It's also incorrect to say that I'm feeling "defensive" or that my "hackles are raised" because, honestly, I've got no reason, personal or professional, to be overly concerned with the opinions that you hold.

I am interested in your emotional response to my lack of equivocating language in my response. (I wonder, if I had used the same language markers but presented myself as a man, would you have responded in the same way?) And I'm highly interested in your immediate comparison between (how you perceived) my emotional state and your "less sensitive" gay friends.
