And we're supposed to think Anita's strong and powerful. What Anita has isn't power. It's might, but might isn't power. She always needs to force people to do things; they don't do it because she's persuaded them or helped them.

This is something I've been thinking about for a very long time, before I even knew LKH existed, because of my own life. The point of dominating someone isn't to force them to do things in any way; it's to give them a wonderful experience of purposefully giving up power because they want to. Anita is not dominant. She's nothing but a bully, and a bully can never be a dominant. She's weak, she's nasty, she's scared, and she's selfish. She prefers if the person she's doing things to doesn't want it, because that makes her feel strong. But deep down, she knows this proves what a weak person she truly is.

LKH's brain must be a very scary place.

ETA: wait Haven was Auggie's Servant?

In Danse Macabre Auggie's animal to call is lions, and he runs the lions in Chicago. But I don't think Haven is his specific "Animal to Call" (is Therian Servant what you call that?). He brought Haven to Anita specifically as a pomme de sang candidate, thinking she'd like him because he was so strong and dominant. Anita's all nooo might doesn't make right and dominants aren't superior to non-dominants and even though I want to fuck Haven I don't want him taking over Joseph's lions. Which, uh, yeah, we all know how that worked out. But Anita still has a teeny tiny itty bitty bit of morality in Danse Macabre.
