All the stuff about Anita seeming to need to hold her boytoys' hands and make out with them even as she thinks she's a badass manly feminist woman would be a great, open unreliable narrator touch, making readers uneasy and hinting at troubles to come, if her author didn't believe the character's own hype. Again, missed opportunities.

Also, the "bodyguard" ridiculousness just caters to Anita's vanity and gives her an excuse to keep the guys she obviously needs to be near close to her. I wish one of her "sweetie" "bodyguards" would get killed, hopefully slowly enough for her to realize in horror what's she done as she and her whole coterie die with her. *g*
