Okay, firstly, the idea that you need to be 'dominant' to comfort someone, what the hell?

LKH does not think submissives are human beings. She writes as if we're completely incapable of the full range of human emotion and ability all the damn time -- not that any of her characters have any range of emotion or ability, but she's more explicit re: submissives. Like we're literally some kind of pet, except most people don't think it's okay to rape pets.
