Like, he gets pissed and calls her on it, she is maybe defensive for a bit but then sees his point and vows to work on it? We could even see her struggling with it, like she starts to say "I can't believe you love me" but changes it to "I feel really lucky that you love me" or something else that doesn't seem to be fishing for compliments/reassurance.
Nah, god forbid any kind of reasonable communication occur among these people. Or for Anita to grow positively as a person in any way.
Oh wait, that would mean Anita would have to be imperfect and actually make steps toward changing her behavior. Never mind.
