Ugh, I'm so behind in reading and commenting on these sporks. Pray forgive me - it was the endless negotiations on sex that broke me. You know how I mentioned that Skin Trade and Flirt are actually not too bad as far as Anita Blake books go? What I meant was that they weren't like this one. ^_^;;
Anita's stupid tendency to assume the worst of people without any particular reason (someone mentioned back in the last book that she always thinks her clients have some nefarious and/or moronic agenda, too) really annoys me. I don't know if the fact that half the time, it is very ambiguous in the text whether she's right or not makes it better or worse - I mean, it'd be bad if she was always shown to be right, but as it is, it's like LKH thinks that she doesn't even have to show Anita to be right, because of course Anita is right, why would we need to see any proof of that? *groans*
