Joram's lump is almost definitely an abcess, which is good! A tumor would be certain death, but an abscess I can treat. As for Jabez, well, his penis stayed out a week and he wasn't looking good. He even had trouble breathing and was making distressed noises. Likely having it out weakened his immune system and opened him up to a respiratory infection. On Tuesday, I put some cold water on it to reduce the swelling, and this enabled me to push his sheath back and reveal what I'd suspected there might be--a penis plug! This big gob of proteinaceous material was forcing his poor little pecker out and hurting him! I removed it, and now he seems fine.
