and even the Harlequin don't know where [the Traveler and his Human Servant are] hiding. Of course not. The Harlequin has proven themselves to be perfidious at best. And aligned with Anita at worst. (Although I live in hope that this is a ploy to get close to Anita, get trusted, and murder her to death.) And isn't Jake one of them?
he says it depends on how fast they can kill the ones that want to kill Anita He apparently has no doubt that the pro-Anita faction will win. And Anita doesn't worry about them losing either. (Although I fail to understand why the Harlequin would want a new Father Day or Tiger Master or whatever.) This neatly removes a potential source of tension and plot.... I suppose it threatened to get in the way of the porn.
"right now they see the other Harlequin was their greatest threat. Once we are neutralized, then they will turn to you." TO YOU, not ON YOU. More potential plot averted!
"so it behooves us to help you guys." I'm shocked she knows the word "behooves" and that she came to such a conclusion on her own. There's no sex in this plan at all! And no one had to explain it to her three times! WHO PUT THAT THOUGHT IN HER HEAD?
"we will live or die as we always have, by our own hands." I think the "we" here refers to the Harlequin as a group, rather than any individual person. And, while it's a good sentiment, it's not something that will work in a world with someone as overpowered and dictatorial as Anita.
Jake talks for a paragraph about how all the remaining pureblood tigers who aren't white or red belong to the Harlequin Because those pure-blooded tigers are the best, obviously. Yech!
