She never sees the rationale behind peoples' objections, she just thinks there's a demand for a certain type of character and throws in the most cheaply-written version of said character so she can get back to writing Anita. Same as how she trots out Richard and Edward when the fans demand it, but the poor guys get more and more lobotomized every time. Yup, you hit the nail on the head right here.
