I can't wrap my mind around how anyone would handle the precise situation Anita is in here, because it is so stupid, but sexual harassers do not splutter and turn red at a quip. And they do not stop. And people do not believe the victim; instead, they tell her to shrug it off and that she's exaggerating and she brought it on herself and why does she have to be so mean to the poor man.
LKH can't handle anything. She cannot even observe or write about anything she herself has personally experienced in any way, shape, or form. Except, possibly, hair.
