Which is why it all falls apart when she gets so preachy about how enlightened she is for being into kink/poly lifestyle. Like...you can't really have it both ways of being both LKH's fantasy and deep and meaningful characters having intense, amazing relationships/engaging in incredibly dangerous kink but in a safe manner to the point where IRL people can explore their kinks/alternative lifestyles/deal with personal issues.
And then I remember 50 Shades of Grey's popularity and I realise that there is no god.
