Teeny tiny waist and humongous tits and high heels: the tutor is a Proper Woman oh joy! Not that writing a character like that is bad, but the way it's dumped in there makes it sound like it's part of her moral worth.
A teacher constantly kissing and hugging their student would have been REALLY FUCKING WEIRD in 1990. And most parents would not have been okay with it, nor would most 10-year old children. If anything, it would have been looked on even more askance than it would be now. This was during the tail-end of the Satanic Panic.
Calling Napoleon "insane" and claiming all "great men" (not women, huh?) are "insane" is making my brain melt. Also Henry VIII was a colossal spoiled turd who liked murdering people. Maybe that's why Quinn admires the latter.
Bahahah the stuff about movies sounds exactly like Anne Rice's own amazon.com reviews. So much of this book sounds like her diary. And her adoration of the rich, and scorn toward everyone else, is incredibly disgusting. I think if she saw Wolf of Wall Street, she'd think the main character was some kind of god. Also, I don't think she understood the movies she names there at all.
Oh, okay, so all her potential value to you was entertainment.
It sounds like all Quinn values anyone for is entertainment. Even Lestat is only talked about in really shallow ways. What can he do to make Quinn's life more aesthetically pleasing, what (supposedly) interesting conversations can they have. If this were a deliberate look into the mind of a narcissist... well, it would still be dull, but at least it would have some point.
