Ah, I see. Thank you. I guess I was assuming that if the characters was (nominally?) male and the player female, then "play-by" must be who the character was being played by. I'm still trying to puzzle out whether she thinks swans have separate arms from their wings, maybe tucked up like little T-rex arms somewhere :)
